heat. heat. heat. and a lot of it.
i'm seriously not joking.

ok, so it wasn't really hell...hell. but it was hellish!
so hear my list of complaints bout d whole sdc project. sit tight guys, its gonna b a long one.

1. friggin crazy deadline! (2 weeks? sure, not a problem!)

2. cats + dogs sessions. unbelievably, we actually tot we understood each other. (i mean, u talking, me listening but ummm, wat r u saying?)

3. no dunbass contractors dumb enuff 2 agree 2 a 2 weeks deadline

4. 1st draft of booth design rejected!

5. 2nd draft axed! (finally had 2 go with a contractors design a week b4 deadline)

6. other co-exhibitors exhibit materials came d day b4 set up date (which messes up d material selections) actually, its not really a surprise.

7. friggin crazy deadline. oh, said that already.
8. materials submitted were .... shall we say .... not as expected? hope?

9. why do i have to pick up other people's messes? why? why?

10. why is there so many damn clouds every damned day i need 2 make a satellite map? why? like theres not enuff obstruction people!

11. fuckin crazy dealine. yes, said that already.

12. the contractor were bleedin late

13. why is there friggin no aircond in d friggin air conditioned tent? no fan, no ventilation to speak of. just heat and more heat! CRAP! ( the tent is hereby dubbed 'the sauna' )

14. after 3 days in the 'sauna' my body's survival instinct kicked in, a foot out the 'sauna' and its chilly (but its still damn hot in the 'sauna'. i dropped 3 kg at least! ...umm, thank you!)

15. it would b nice if d upperworks could agree with each other (at least once outta 10) + not create such a big fuss over every little thing so that we wouldn't have to be doin crazy stuffs like disguising ourselves as gardeners @ nexus and secreting away d dried leaves. (not that we fooled anyone, i think they just tot we were crazy having fun!)



16. does it friggin look like we're bleedin having a lot of fun?



18. they told us that they upgraded our room, but it felt more like a downgrade, eventho its one of those lovely villas but its so friggin far, again no aircond nor the fan, all we have is d view.



18. n does hanging d same poster + then taking it down den hanging it up again @ a different panel + then repeat. sounds fun? (repeat at least 3x, + in some cases after relocating 2 ~3x, take it down + put it away, PUT IT AWAY [scream a little] )



19. n then change d placements again @ midnight, d day b4 d event itself (oh well, i shouldn't complain cos i was ordi in bed, the guys stayed on tho :p)

20. everyone else fuckin screws up + gets away wid it. how come we dun get 2 slack off like dat? (n gets away wid it i mean?)

21. i kinda got sick of the scenery between KK to Sepangar. let's not go this way again for a long...long time K?

22. we r clueless! CLUELESS!



23. event day, PM came n saw, like it n everything. By 2pm, we started 2 take everything down. WOW! i feel tired all over again. isn't dat insane? all dat 4 just 6 hrs show? pfft!



24. by d time finished rollin off d last double tape on d posters the skin of my bleedin fingers almost wore off.

summary. overall, i tink our booth turned out pretty cool. but it seems dat all the rest were pretty high end too! somehow, altho i tink we were d most colorful, it kinda feels like we're poor ants living in sulaps next 2 d giants. but it only matters dat PM liked it. so there! anyway, as i was getting ready 2 post dis, GM came 2 c me in the morning n told me we gotta do better next time (NEXT TIME?) and so 2 b ready 4 it we gotta start now. okaaaay, there goes my march and april. possibly my may too.

complains aside, i really liked doin dis sort of things. just not while under intense heat. n after a while u get used 2 d boss's whims. dats wut makes it challenging. its kinda a good break fr my other assignments. so thx 4 signing me on.

oh well, at least its worth 2 talk bout 4 d next several days. oh well, we're getting paid big bucks 2 endure d hardship. oh well, looking back now, it was kinda fun + i lost weight (so thanx 4 that) oh well, i got 2 b on tv (+ otto + noyod) but i didn't get 2 c it.

the sdc project is over and done with and i've new deadlines to worry about, but somehow i just can't get the energy to start anything.

its a sport's manga about swimming, that's spiked with romance, not the lovey dovey kind tho. oh well, twas a sweet story. read it.

a quickie!

it got so busy and i'm so wired!

wanted to post the 2nd part of thaipusam but time ran way from me. in a hour i'm spose to be off to sepanggar to do set~up for SDC. and i hadn't packed yet, fact is i'm still in bed ! nya~ha~ha!. finishing up all my artwork for this weekend took me till 11pm last nite!!!

i also shot some shopping stuff at city mall yesterday, but i might redo it cos was so empty at that time, it looked like a ghost town ... ehehe, seriously, i was told it would be better in the weekends, but i'm fully booked on weekends all the way to mac. i'm gonna have to shuffle some stuff :( altho i consider the shoot a bust, i discover lotsa great boutiques there (*o*) and i bought some kinky stuff! nya~ha~ha! definitely will some more time here since yesterday was so hurried!

oh yeah, sent off sister to KL on thurs. what a baby! she wanted us to stay till she got on the plane, so mommy and i had to have our dinner there too. luckily the thai style fish that i ordered is tasty! how uncommon, airport food to be so good.

today is a full day too! i'll be heading to sepanggar for some pre~set~up and then coming back to likas sports complex at noon to shoot the lion & dragon dance, then heading back to sepangar again for he full swing set~up. i'll be putting up at nexus till the deed is done!

luckily i get to hooked up with jon sang last nite or else i don't know when i'll see him. so later guys!

the mysticism of thaipusam p.1

its awesome to see up close and personal, but ... its also scary and a little bit painful. i had been wanting to see this event for a long time but never had the opportunity, this time i covered it for work.

its something that i cannot imagine to happen if i was not there too see with my very own eyes, i might remain a skeptic forever. in the mortification of the flesh, the devotee slip into a trance and was pierce by hooks and skewers, but feel no pain , no blood spilling and after will leaves no scars.



during the piercings the crowds chants 'veel' over and over again accompanied by enthusiastic beatings of the drums, which i was told to give spirit to the devotee. not only the vel kavadi devotee goes into a trance but it might also affect the supporter. as i was standing in the perfect position to take my photo, the lady beside me fell into a trance and started to scream hysterically, and it changed her. her voice and attitude became aggressive and sharper at times and whispery otherwise. it shocked me. at one point, she grabbed a handful of leaves and started chewing and swallowing them. not satisfied with that, she also shoved a handful into the devotee mouth.



i guess it was a hot day, but at that time i felt only the excitement of the crowd my heart felt like it was gonna jump out. as i sit here writing this, i felt hot and cold shivers all over my body. i guess i was affected too and i have to admit its somewhat painful to watch.

stuff's happening

work suddenly got a whole lot complicated!

i got a busy day tomorro that starts @ 7 am. a morning shoot. (dat's the worst). looks like i have to shoot everyday till saturday. oh wait, thursday's free, but i still gotta work on the sdc project. friday i got a shopping shoot and sat's the lion and dragon dance. then gotta help out at the sdc site for the next few days till the 29th.

for sdc, we are showcasing our potential to the PM. our site will be @ sepangar port. its something like the floral float, where we have to build our booth inside the air~cond tent. what a pain. so far, we ordi had 2 meetings, but i don't feel like we're moving along at all. looks like i'm gonna be visitin Kasi and SPS a lot to do maps. (that sounded weird somehow)

even tho all this is gonna happen, jon sang just had to pick this time to go out of town. where's the love here people? i'll survive somehow. u better buy me somefin good!

Happy Birthday ~ Storm!

Its storm's bday today!

sister and daddio missed it . this time the party was @ our neighbor's place. he is also storm's tutor! thanx 2 him, storm passed his UPSR with flying colors (actually, its not so good on my purse since i had to increase storm's allowance!)



most of the neighborhood kids came, but we didn't invite any of our family cos that'll cause a riot! but it was a 1st for me to see storm's interaction with others.



even tho its a joint party, mom didn't cook anything (too bad, i think mom's curry and soy souce dishes are yummy!) but the neighborhood aunt helped with the cooking since most of the kids here are muslims).



i was kinda uncomfortable to be there, since i was sorta the 'big sista' its tough dealing kids @ this ages. they ask you the damnest q's. Ayu even told me she likes my hair, Nora too and she even ask her mom right in front of me if she could color her hair like mine when she's done with school. ha~ha~ha, i could see her mom cringing. hey kids, you saying this doesn't make me happy. not at all (*o*).

everyone had a good time, the cake was yummy. happy bday dear!

well, its the 1st for me, but its fine, its good to laugh at yourself. (its pretty embarrassing tho ...)

it started off just a normal conversation that veered towards bodies's 'eccentricities' like moles and the likes. i just happen to mention casually that i have a 'little' 'eccentricity' myself and they forcefully bully me to show it to them. i was laughing and crying at the same time and to top it all when i finally gave up and showed it sister shriek like a banshee and covered her face with her hands as if she saw a monster or something! its not that bad! warrrrgh! cries, cries!

not only that, mommy jokingly says that if we died and our faces were unrecognizable it'd be easy to identify us by our deformed body. YES, DEFORMED!

and yes, that means dear sister also have eccentricity of her own! and she tried to show me! nooooo! i don't want to see these kind of things! and mommy is one to talk about deforms ... the famous horned devil! (so what if she already had it surgically removed!)

just kiddin, seriously it was a surprise! it not exactly news that shana and missy ordi left the org and last nite was their farewell do. although i had been sick for the past 3 days, i managed to drag myself out of bed and dressed up for it. things you do for friendship.hmpf.

anyways, the big shocking news was juls is also leaving! (already left?) details are sketchy and most people only found out last nite! i know my guys didn't know anything either.

back to the do. i of course came late but i was in time for the speeches ... and dear missy did cry in the end despite her declaration she won't. nya~ha~ha! its alright girl, its just us, we won't published them pictures in the news (maybe). anyway, all the best, all the best! you got haw, you don't need nothing else (except food, and clothing and ... and..etc) i'm sure you guys would do great things!

shana's speech was very light and her new life seemed to be real good! she didn't cry (too bad). juls's was even shorter. i had a chat with him awhile seemed he too, just like missy and haw is really leaving it to the wind to chart their course. how romantic, i'm envious.

its not mine, but i wanted to have it written down somewhere so that they couldn't chicken out from it.

i heard it straight from them this morning! otto and noyod has confirmed that their new year resolution is to quit smoking!

NIGHTMARE!

geez! isn't the devil sposed to be gorgeous as sin and so cool as to tempt you over his side? (like the ones in manga dammit! you know, sword? jio? ororon? black flames?) what's up with the scary and ugly unnamed devil? and the associates were lame! a vengeful bitch advocate, and a stupid ass slave.

definitely not a nice~nice dream. so, i think i pissed off the vengeful bitch, but all i could remember was her saying something like ... not even your bones will be left (in scary echoing tone) .... me of course didn't take that seriously until she goes and shower my house with fire storm.

i say my house but its not really, i don't know whose is it but i was staying there and i'm also still puzzled about a kid and a girl that was in the house with me. never saw them before in my life and i had to scramble all over to keep them from hurts. in real life i don't think 'me' be nice like that.

well after running around the house trying the avoid death, at one point, we hid under the bed while the house rattling and tumbling down around us so i guess its not such a great idea after all to hide under there. so we ran out to the yard and of course that's where the vengeful bitch and nasty stupidass associate caught us.

now, here's where it gets really weird, the dumb ass guys whips out a wicked (looks really cool) knife and suddenly the ugly devil appeared snickering at us. and of course the bitch was there too.

the ugly devil suddenly slashed the kid and the girl but nothing happen, he was really showing off now, trying to frightened them. i think maybe he's actually stupid too cos suddenly he gave the knife to the kid. smart kid threw the knife to me and i started stabbing them. AHAHAH i am strong and it was really satisfying to stab stab stab them. and they disintegrate into black smoke with moaning and howling. phew!

end of nightmare. sounds just like a bad halloween movie right? i was in a bad mood until i got on the net and saw a new manhwa up for reads. ehehe.

despite its tacky restaurant name, the food here is great! the prices on the menu is quite reasonable. i'm so in love with the yam roll. just to warn you, they have some quite interesting selection in the menu. i.e. ~ la mian braise meat in lan chow style, erm ... do you see wat i mean?

so whats your new year resolution ? i think i didn't have one in 2007, so i think i must have double resolutions for this year..... what its gonna be?

for one thing, i want to be a kind person, but having said that its so not me! so that's just rediculous so mebbe i should say that i wanna be kin~der . hows that? i'll do by best. but make a note - i said kinder not friendlier.

no 2, i want to be a better photographer ~ translated, i want alpha a700. ehehehe.

seriously, all around i want to be more spiritually, mentally and physically. but that does not mean i want to wear bigger size clothes, i'm fine with that as it is ( although i've been putting on pounds lately ...scary!!!) and i promise this time to update my blog .... monthly! ehehehe.

now, i want to talk a bit about 2007, just a bit okay! since i've been blogging all over the place its kinda tiring to update all of em, but ya know theres some gripe that i just don't want certainn someone someone to see but in the end i just can't keep up! so i'm gonna be dumping stuff in here from my other blogs .. sort of a ....migration..yup!

in the meantime 2007 highlights ....

my department has a new HOD. she's nice and all that, i dunno too much about her though, since we don't talk a lot and don't have much work together. i sometimes feel that otto and i don't really belong in the MCD since we have little to do with their function and vice versa. but its all good, don't mind it so much.

We also have a new assistant HOD, introducing ...... Gaban! now, she and i gets along. well, i think so ... she's the one who has to suffer bitchy me. anyway i think she's kewl.

the IT team expanded. welcome Yo in the house! opps, oh yeah - she jumped ship and went to the 'other side' ! nah, just kidding, she's with SPS now. oh and there Stan! he's kewl too. then theres some other people, but i don't know them, so whatever! anyhow the whole team moved to SPS so we have the studio to ourselves ..no wait .. theres still ... that guy. drat.

Its over! the break is over!
as usual deal for me on year end break is just sleep, eat, sleep, tv, sleep, surfing net and yeah sleep. it was really nice. bliss. this time i had 13 days to do all the things listed above, so i had some spare time to do a little shopping, hanging out with friends. BUT its not as fun as it could be if i had some money ... i am pretty damn broke! its no fun! no fun! arggghhh!
